***APP Resuscitation Bootcamp is for CHOP APP's *** 

The CHOP APP Resuscitation Bootcamp is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. This classroom, Instructor-led course uses a series of education modalities to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. The goal of the course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes

  • 100% of participants will demonstrate effective communication through collaboration with team members during simulated patient scenarios.
  • 100% of participants will demonstrate assessment of patients using a systematic approach through collaboration with team members during simulated patient scenarios.
  • Participants must attend and actively engage in 80% of the PALS Provider course sessions, including all skills stations and simulations, to receive course credit.
  • 100% of participants with an initial chest compression fraction (CCF) score of <80% will demonstrate improved high-performance CPR by increasing CCF by at least 5% during the second skills station session, as measured using a QCPR manikin.

 

Evaluation/Feedback - It is encouraged that evaluation forms be completed at the end of the case conference giving your feedback and explaining what you learned and/or what practice or skill you will perform to provide improved patient care.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

DESIGNATION OF CREDIT

 

Nurses: This activity provides 6.5 ANCC contact hours, of which 1.25 are pharmacotherapeutic hours.

 

Physician Assistant:

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has been authorized by the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 6.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
