AHA Heartsaver® CPR/AED/First Aid –
This course is designed for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) staff who are required to maintain Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid certification as part of their role. It ensures team members are prepared to recognize and respond to emergencies in both clinical-adjacent and non-clinical environments across the enterprise.
This is a hands-on, instructor-led course focused on building confidence and competence in the first critical minutes of an emergency, prior to the arrival of clinical response teams or EMS.
What you’ll learn:
- Adult, Child, and Infant CPR
- Safe and effective use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Relief of choking for all age groups
- Recognition of cardiac arrest and other life-threatening conditions
- First aid care for common workplace and community emergencies, including bleeding, burns, shock, and allergic reactions
Course format:
- In-person, instructor-led skills session
- Scenario-based training aligned with CHOP equipment and response systems
- Emphasis on high-quality CPR and early AED use
Who should attend:
- CHOP staff in roles requiring Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid certification
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid course completion card, valid for two years.
