Bio:
Ammarah U Iqbal, MD MPH is a pediatric emergency medicine physician at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she pursued her undergraduate education, medical degree, and Master of Public Health at Boston University. She completed her pediatric residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, spent time working in community hospitals, and finished her pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Yale in New Haven, CT. She is passionate about improving pediatric readiness in prehospital, community, and global health contexts, with particular expertise in using simulation as a teaching tool. She has a developing interest in humanitarian medicine and recently spent time in Gaza providing pediatric emergency care. When she is not in the hospital or the classroom, she can be found traveling, hiking, or with her family.
